Getting started

  • Import a video.
  • Choose the extraction mode that best fits your goal.
  • Review the selected frames.
  • Export the frames you want to keep.

What the main modes are for

  • Balanced: a compact set of distinct frames for general review.
  • Cover: fewer, stronger frames for cover candidates and hero images.
  • Steps: more change points for tutorials, workflows, and process content.

Search-friendly FAQ

Why does the app ask for file or photo access?

Dig It needs access only so it can import your selected media and export the results you choose to save.

Does my video leave my device?

Dig It processes your media locally on your device and does not upload your video to a server unless you explicitly export or share files yourself.

Why can't an older saved project fully reopen?

Some saved projects keep metadata only, or keep only a lightweight preview set, which may not be enough to rebuild the full working result set.

What should I do if export fails?

Try importing the file again, confirm the source file is still accessible, and make sure there is enough free storage available on your device.

What is the best mode for cover images?

Use Cover mode when you want fewer but stronger keyframes that are better suited to thumbnails, hero images, and social previews.

What is the best mode for tutorials or workflow videos?

Use Steps mode when you want more visible change points, which makes it easier to document process steps and sequence changes.
