What is a Schulte grid?
A Schulte grid is a table of shuffled numbers used for visual search and attention practice. The exercise is simple: find each number in order as quickly and accurately as you can.
How the exercise works
A classic Schulte table uses a 5x5 grid with numbers from 1 to 25. You scan the whole grid, locate 1, then 2, then 3, and continue until the final number. A timer makes each round easy to compare.
The online tool also offers 3x3 with 9 numbers, 4x4 with 16, and 6x6 with 36. Its timer begins at the correct selection of 1. Pause hides the grid and excludes paused time. Compare results at the same size, since different sizes require different amounts of visual searching.
Why people practice with Schulte tables
Schulte grid practice is commonly used as a short focus warm-up because it combines visual scanning, attention control, and speed. It is easy to understand, does not require equipment, and works well in short sessions.
A result reflects performance on this exercise. It is not a medical assessment, and this tool does not promise improvements in intelligence, reading speed, or a health condition.
